Duba Plains Camp

Duba Plains is one of the Okavango Delta's most remote camps and is located in the furthermost reaches of the Okavango Delta in a very private reserve of 30,000 hectares.

Duba Plains is small and intimate, accommodating only 12 people. Guests receive a highly personalised experience. Each of the 6 large tented rooms has an en suite bathroom with shower and flush toilet facilities as well as a veranda overlooking the floodplain. The dining room and pub are raised on deck under large riverine trees. The camp also has a small communal pool to cool off from the African heat.

Expect a variety of safari activities and your Duba Plains vacation focus depends on how much water is in the area. You may choose between game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, mokoro excursions and walking safaris. The night drives often provide opportunities to photograph Africa's elusive nocturnal animals in action.

The camp is situated on an island shaded by large Ebony, Fig and Garcinia trees and surrounded by expansive plains which are occasionally flooded. Since Duba has access to large islands, floodplains and marshes, the camp offers a diversity of experiences. Duba`s real treat is the exclusivity and it is suited to those who want to be far away.

Duba Plains Attractions

The wildlife of Duba Plains depends on the water levels in the area. The large herds of Buffalo and Sable are the Lion`s main prey. Lechwe dot the savannah and Elephants feed on the islands. Hippo concentrate in the deeper channels, when the waters are up and Leopards are found around the islands. Most of the Delta`s birds are found in the area as well.
