Chelinda Lodge
Chelinda Lodge is high on the
Nyika Plateau, and a visit here is a highlight
of any trip to Malawi. Nyika is considered by
many to be 'One of the most beautiful places in
the world,' with the finest scenery, wildlife
and wilderness to be found in all Malawi.
Chelinda Lodge is in the heart
of the Nyika Plateau with panoramic views over
rolling montane grasslands. Newly opened in 2000,
it is built entirely of pine logs and stone, each
of the eight individual cabins is beautifully
appointed with its own log fire, queen-size beds
and fully contained en-suite bathroom. The lodge
has a protective background of tall, leggy trees
and a frontage of woods and grasslands that go
on forever.
