Namibia
Namibia is an extremely popular
destination renowned for its Salvador Dali surreal
Landscapes.
Namibia is fast becoming on of
Africa's 'Hottest' safari destinations, with the
extraordinary Skeleton Coast, the huge dunes of
Sossusvleie, the vast rugged beauty of Damaraland
and the remote vastness Kaokovelt drawing travelers
looking for an African Safari with a difference.
"Namib" means " wide open space"
in the language of the native Nama people.
This stunningly beautiful country
is in a realm of its own with vast areas of untouched
rugged wilderness scared only by the winds of
time. The desolate landscapes are awe inspiring
and even here the miracle of life - perhaps in
its most primitive state can be found in the desert
dunes and beaches of the legendary Skeleton Coast.
The desert covers an area greater
that Great Britain and France combined over 800,000
square kilometers. Namibia is an ancient dry land
with the Kalahari desert on the East and the Namib
desert on the West yet, herds of Oryx, Desert
Elephant and other antelope including Kudu, Springbok,
Black faced Impala and Giraffe survive here in
significant numbers preyed upon by predators such
as Lion, Cheetah and Brown Hyenas. Against all
odds, found here too are the some of the last
of the Black Rhino to be seen in their natural
habitat. The population of Namibia is only 1.5
million - one of the lowest population densities
in the world.
