Amazing Tanzania Safari mobile camp

Amazing Tanzania, previously known as Gibbs Farm Safaris have been operating safaris in mostly northern Tanzania for the past 30 years. They extend their reach into the south of the country where they from time to time establish temporary tented camps in parks such as Ruaha. Amazing Tanzania have access to their own private concession in Loliondo Game Controlled Area on the Eastern border of Serengeti National Park. They focus on active experiences whenever possible, with game walks and bird watching a speciality. Excellent guiding by a mixture of experienced international and Tanzanian guides.

Camps consists of large walk-in Selous style tents with mosquito netted windows. There is an en-suite shower and toilet tent attached at the back. Hot water can be obtained throughout the day. Each tent has proper canvas beds and duvets with fresh linen. There is a bedside table with torch, reading lamps and candles. Outside each tent, on the ‘veranda’, is a washstand, table and mirror. There is a main dining tent where meals are served prepared on site with locally grown vegetables and fresh fruit. Each evening a campfire is lit and guests gather for drinks and enjoy the beauty of an African night. Fine wines are served with dinner.

Safaris are conducted in Land Rovers for their comfort and ability to access areas without roads. These vehicles have been specially adapted for safari. The seats have been moved back to give more legroom and 3 large hatches have been fitted in the roof for optimum game viewing; one over the driver’s and front passenger’s seats; one over the back seat and one in the rear. Since quite a bit of time is spent in the Land Rover, other adaptations have been made to ensure travelling comfort such as canvas seat covers and cushions and pockets for water bottles, cameras and books. There is a fridge in each vehicle for essential cold drinks. Each Land Rover carries a comprehensive first aid kit and has radio communication with our other vehicles and base camps. Itineraries make use of Gibbs Farm and Ndutu Lodge, both affiliated with Amazing Tanzania and provide a low-key safari experience in excellent safari areas.
