tanzania - The South circuit
In the Selous and Ruaha National
Parks game is prolific, and you’ll often
find animals wandering through camp. There are
large populations of buffalo, elephant, wildebeest,
giraffe, lion, leopard and wild dog. The rivers
are alive with fish, crocodiles and hippo.
Western Tanzania is in a league
of its own. Katavi National Park has just one
permanent camp in a million acres of wilderness,
packed with game. The Mahale Mountains are equally
remote, and home to around a thousand chimpanzees.
For birding you have to visit Lake Eyasi. Over
a thousand bird species have been recorded in
Tanzania.
