Nkwali Camp Attractions
Access into the park is by pontoon, boat or
over the bridge. The Luangwa Valley was formed
by the massive forces that created the East African
Rift Valley. The game is always in the vicinity
of the camp. With three distinct habitats, the
river, the adjoining lagoons and the plains there
is a wide diversity of game. Amongst the species,
waterbuck, zebra, warthog and greater kudu are
common place. The wandering herds of elephant
are amongst some of the largest left in Africa.
Buffalo continuously move in search of fresh pastures
and water. In their wake come the predators, the
lion and hyena. Leopard hunt the smaller game
under cover of darkness.
Nkwali Camp Facilities
The six guest rooms are made of woven bamboo
and thatch. They are airy and cool with open-air
ensuite bathrooms. The bar is built around an
enormous ebony tree and the separate dining area
overlooks a small lagoon which often attracts
elephants and bushbuck down to drink. Nkwali also
