zambia - victoria falls adventure activities
Victoria Falls is rapidly becoming
one of the Adventure Capitals of the world in
a spectacular natural setting.
For over 20 years now it has
been recognised for having the worlds greatest
and hardest commercial White water rafting experience
as well as the worlds highest fixed Bungee
Jump from the Victoria falls bridge 111m
down into the Batoka Gorge.
White water rafting
White Water Rafting
Considered one of the best stretches of commercially
run river in the world, Batoka Gorge provides
one of the most intense sensory thrills imaginable.
Its twenty three white water rapids and striking
scenery deep within the sheer black cliffs afford
the adrenaline junkie a wild roller coaster ride
along a route carved over millennia by the Great
Zambezi.

You have the opportunity to take
it easy in grade one to four, or if you’re
up to it, go hard in Grade Five Zambezi white
water ! The frothing boiling water is what this
River is really known for and what makes the new
craze of River Surfing here such a blast, literally
! Charging into rapids with water crashing around
you and punching out the other side to find yourself
surfing will undoubtedly be one of your best ever
adrenaline rushes - but only for the experienced
!
Abseiling
The latest adventure activity
to come to Livingstone is Abseiling
and the sheer gorges around Victoria Falls are
ideal for the adventurer or try high wire. A cable
is spanned across the gorge 135m long and 75m
above the ground. A full body harness is attached
securely from your back to the cable and you take
a running dive off the edge of the cliff. Soar
across the deep gorge like a bird in flight. Jet
boating in the turbulent rapids of the Batoka
gorge - buzzing huge rock boulders is a real white
knuckle ride more scary than any rollercoaster.
Also Helicopter rides and Micro-light flights
over the falls and through the Batoka Gorge provide
awesome views and thrills - the Victoria Falls
- truly one of the greatest 'Wonders of the World'.
Horse back & elephant back
safaris
Also on offer for those who like
a more tranquil adventure are Equestrian
& Elephant Back Safaris along the
Zambezi River, near Victoria Falls. Ride into
Teak Forests and wilderness areas, crossing old
rivers and getting really close to the wildlife
is one of the better ways to enjoy the awesome
beauty of this area. Ride amongst the elephants
and herds of antelope, this is how the early pioneers
saw Africa !
