River Club Lodge
With its high vantage point on
the bank, the River Club Lodge
looks across the river and large herds of elephant
and buffalo can often be seen from the lodge coming
down to the water to drink. The River Club has
been built true to African Colonial style with
high ceilings, and a lovely wide veranda running
around the building. Deep white wicker settees
and rocking chairs, parlor games, a library and,
of course, the beautiful view ensure hours of
relaxed pleasure; the services of a very attentive
bartender will ensure that every whim is catered
for. The sunsets from River Club are spectacular
and unforgettable!
The roomy wood and thatch split
level chalets are decorated in simple colonial
style, each looking into the African sunset, with
a special view of the river and Zambezi National
Park.
In the evening "The River
Club" is enveloped in a symphony of sounds
of the bush as hippo and lion calls lilt over
the water.
Elephant are frequently sighted
on the small islands in front of the lodge.
The main lodge building, with
its colonial style tin roof, houses the dining
room, lounge, drawing room and library which is
stocked with volumes of historical and wildlife
literature make for the perfect setting for a
truly unforgettable Victoria Falls experience.
River Club Lodge Location
The River Club is situated on
